This coastline, a labyrinth of islands and hidden coves, offers not just pristine beauty but an intimate connection to the rhythms of the natural world, a place where land, sea, and life converge in their rawest form. Anchoring in a secluded bay, you find that every stretch of water and every forested hillside teems with a biodiversity that hints at the deep, intertwined history of human culture and nature here. Averages: 80 degrees during the day, 70 degrees at night. The humidity level is at 85% with an average of 3 inches of rain for the month of May. Best of all, the water is a perfect 78 degrees!
Q. Who is best for this trip?
If you're open minded, flexible, and adventurous, this trip is for you! There will be lots of boat and swim time as we explore the secluded sandy beaches and coves. This is an exploratory adventure and you should be ok with tropical environments. Most importantly, this trip is a 'go with the flow' adventure.
Q. What about the seas, will it be calm? What about the wind?
It will be! Angra dos Reis is a ginormous bay protected from the Atlantic Ocean waters. Seas are calm. It is not the windiest of locations, which means we will set the main sail and the jib but we will do a combination of sailing when there is wind and motor sailing when there is limited wind.
Q. Is it safe?
Angra dos Reis has many tourists, both foreign and local. It is generally safe for visitors and will be very safe aboard. Common sense is needed like anywhere else!
Q. Do you recommend exploring Rio de Janeiro before or after the charter?
